Mass Communication and Journalism

DEPARTMENT OF MASS COMMUNICATION AND JOURNALISM

Established in 2016, the Department offers B.A in Mass Communication. The major objective of the Department is to train students in the spheres of journalism, television production, radio production, advertising, public relations, film studies and digital media and photography. The department aims to nurture cutting-edge media professionals with effective communication and critical thinking skills. It works towards preparing young minds with a strong foundation in values and principles, who proactively intervene in developing a just and humane society. Making students adaptable to the changes in the profession, responding to the new developments in the way news is delivered and preparing students to work in different environments are the major concerns of the department

BA Mass communication and journalism Honours

This field of study focuses on the processes, technologies, and effects of mass media, including journalism, broadcasting, advertising, public relations, and digital media. It involves understanding how information is disseminated to large audiences through various media platforms.
BA Mass Communication and Journalism (four years): A four-year degree in BA Mass Communication and Journalism provides an extensive and in-depth education in the fields of media, communication, and journalism. This program is designed to equip students with theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and a comprehensive understanding of the media industry
Eligibility criteria
Candidates who have passed (eligible for higher studies) the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent to any subjects are eligible for admission
Index Mark
Total plus two Marks +50 marks for students who studied mass communication or mass communication with web technology or journalism as optional subjects in HSE or equivalent.
