Department of Chemistry

Established in 2015, the Department of Chemistry is a vital part of the college, dedicated to outstanding education and student growth. The department offers a B.Sc. Chemistry Honours program and minor courses in the self-financing stream, ensuring comprehensive chemical science education. Our well-equipped laboratories provide hands-on experience in chemical processes.
We organize seminars and workshops with academic and industry experts to enhance student knowledge. Committed to sustainability, we conduct green chemistry initiatives and promote environmental care. Strong partnerships with academic institutions and industries facilitate collaborative research. Our department offers internships, placement assistance, and professional development programs, including skills training in manufacturing soaps, detergents, and hand sanitizers.
We provide certificate courses in specialized chemistry areas and training for competitive exams such as JAM, GATE, and CUET, helping students pursue higher education. Exhibitions and research programs encourage innovation and scientific exploration.

B.Sc.Chemistry Honours

Chemistry is a fascinating field, from molecular interactions to complex reactions. Our comprehensive undergraduate program develops critical thinking, problem-solving, research aptitude, and laboratory skills, preparing students for opportunities in academia, research, government, and the private sector.
Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (B.Sc - Three Years): Explore chemistry's broad spectrum, including organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, polymer, advanced, and applied chemistry. Engage in hands-on labs and experiments to enhance understanding and analytical skills, preparing for research, industry, and academia.
Bachelor of Science (Honours - Four Years) in Chemistry: This program is tailored for chemistry enthusiasts, featuring advanced coursework, independent research projects, and collaboration with experienced faculty for a richer academic journey.
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates who have passed (eligible for Higher Studies) the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent there to science subjects are eligible for admission.

Calculation of Index Mark:
Total marks in part III + Marks for Chemistry + Bonus marks, if any.
