Department of Physics

Established in 1995, the Department of Physics has been a cornerstone of the college, dedicated to excellence in education and student development. The department offers a BSc Physics Honours program and a set of minor courses, ensuring a comprehensive education. In 2002, the MSc Physics program was introduced in a self-financing stream. The department features well-equipped laboratories and a computer lab for hands-on learning and exploration of AI and Machine Learning.
Our faculty guide students through areas like Astronomy and Astrophysics, Material Science, Nuclear and Particle Physics, and Machine Learning in physics. Students from other institutions and WMO College join research projects, fostering a collaborative environment.
To enhance the educational experience, the department hosts seminars and invited lectures on emerging topics. Scientific awareness programs, such as star-watching events and science exhibitions, are organized for both students and the public. Internship opportunities at various institutes further enrich student experience. Discover the fascinating world of physics and join a community dedicated to learning and exploration.
