Department of Arabic
The Department of Arabic is the sole institution providing comprehensive studies in Arabic language and literature in Wayanad District. Established alongside our college in 1995, the department offers a Bachelor of Arts in Arabic (Honours) and a range of minor courses, ensuring an in-depth education in Arabic language and literature. In 2002, the department expanded to offer postgraduate education in the self-financing stream, providing advanced education in the field. Equipped with a modern language lab and a departmental library, the department facilitates a smooth learning process.
Notable for its consistent improvement in academic and non-academic performances, the department conducts seminars and workshops on various topics and introduces a wide range of innovative programs each academic year. It also publishes the peer-reviewed research journal "Raihan" with an ISSN. Our dedicated faculty, including two research supervisors registered at RUA College, Farook, serve as mentors to prepare students to meet modern challenges in the field.
Our graduates have been successfully placed in various reputed academic and non-academic institutions both in India and abroad, including colleges, schools, translation bureaus, and prestigious positions in the Middle East.

Bachelor of Arts in Arabic (Honours) - 3-Year: This comprehensive program provides a strong foundation in Arabic language and literature. Bachelor of Arts in Arabic (Honours) - 4-Year: Designed for deeper understanding, this advanced program focuses on classical Arabic literature, modern Arabic poetry, and Arabic linguistics. Students develop advanced language skills and critical thinking, with opportunities for research, internships, and cultural immersion, preparing for leadership roles. Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates who have passed (Eligible for Higher Studies) the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto are eligible for admission.
Calculation of index mark:
Total Marks + Twice the marks secured in Additional Languages /Second languages concerned.
