Established in 2005, The department of English has been a keystone of the college, dedicated to fostering a rich engaging environment for students who are passionate about Literature and English language, In 2015 MA program was introduced by aiming advanced education in self - financing stream with a well-equipped language lab.
Our diverse curriculum and dynamic faculties aim to develop critical thinking, creativity and effective communication and holistic development of the students. To enrich the academic experience the department frequently hosts seminars, invited talks, programs like read to redeem, Rollenbild, Petrichore literary fest, guidance for competitive exams etc.

BA English Language And Literature Honours
English language and literature are fundamental to global communication, cultural exchange, and critical analysis. In an increasingly interconnected world with advancing digital technologies, proficiency in English offers diverse opportunities in education, publishing, media, and communication.
Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature - 3-Year: This comprehensive undergraduate program provides a solid foundation in English language and literary studies. Covering grammar, composition, literary analysis, and cultural studies, students develop strong communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills. Graduates are prepared for careers in teaching, writing, editing, journalism, and content creation.
Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature (Honours) - 4-Year: Designed for deeper exploration, this advanced program delves into specialized areas such as literary theory, British and world literature, and creative writing. Students engage in research, creative projects, and internships, preparing for leadership roles in academia, publishing, media, and cultural institutions.
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates who have passed (Eligible for Higher Studies) the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent there to are eligible for admission.
Calculation of Index Mark:
Total Marks + Twice the marks secured in English. A weightage of 20 marks will be given to those who have studied English, Functional English or Communicative English as optional subject for HSE or an equivalent examination.
