B.Com Computer Application Programme was started in the academic year 2015, under self financing stream. At the time of inception the course was under the P G department of Commerce. This course started with 42 students. In the year 2017-18 it is separated from the PG department and formed “The Department of B.Com Computer Application". On 2020 Shri. Praveen Mathew took charge as the HOD of the department and with three faculty members.
The Department of Commerce is one of the pioneering departments and has its maximum number of students spread out in the program. The faculty members are experienced and competent. It is one of the most vibrant departments in terms of quality rather than its numbers. Most of the students opt M. Com and MBA for their higher studies. The department offers add- on courses like Tally and GST beyond normal course. The department is very active in conducting various activities such as seminars, workshops and inter departmental competitions to motivate the students. The Entrepreneurial Developmental club (ED) under the aegis of the department is thriving and successful.
