Department of Mathematics
Established in 1995 alongside WMO College's inception, the Department of Mathematics excels in mathematical education and research. Our journey began with undergraduate courses, expanding in 1999 with the BSc Mathematics Programme and in 2005 with the MSc Mathematics Programme, offering advanced studies and research opportunities.
Our department hosts diverse academic and co-curricular activities, including Mathematical Circle programs, contests, seminars, workshops, and expert lectures. We celebrate special scientific days, fostering a deep appreciation for mathematics and its applications. Certificate courses on Recreational Mathematics and Technical Writing with LaTeX are also offered. Our programs emphasize theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and analytical thinking, preparing students for successful careers.
Students engage in systematic study practices, cultivating discipline and rigour. They excel in intercollegiate competitions, securing prizes at national and university levels, with many gaining admission to prestigious institutions like IIT, IISER, NITs, IIIT, CUSAT, showcasing their exceptional capabilities and inspiring a lifelong love for learning.
