Social Work

Department of Social Work was commenced from the year 2014 under self-finance stream. The department offers Master Degree in Social Work with specializations in:

  • Rural and Urban Community Development
  • Medical and Psychiatric Social Work

The Master in Social Work (MSW) educates professionals for the pursuit of social justice with an emphasis on direct social work practice that aims to improve Bio-psychosocial functioning through helping relationships. Dedicated to excellence in integrating teaching and learning in both classroom and community contexts, the MSW Program prepares  graduates to apply critical thinking, research-based knowledge, practice wisdom to restore, maintain and enhance the functioning and well-being of individuals, families and communities, and to promote effective and equitable social policies and social services.

The Master’s Program at the Department of social work, WMO College provides students with the knowledge, skills, and value  needed to become effective members of professional social work community. The students receive  education and training necessary to become highly skilled social work practitioners who will enrich the lives of those they serve and the communities in which they practice.
