The Women Cell plays a crucial role in promoting gender equality, creating a safe and supportive environment for women, and addressing issues related to gender discrimination and harassment.
I. Composition: The Women Cell consists of members of the Teaching, Non- teaching and student communities who are committed to the cause of women's welfare and empowerment. The convenor of the Cell will be a lady faculty member. The members from the Teaching/ Non-teaching side will be selected through a staff meeting. The selection process ensured representation from various departments and expertise in dealing with women-related issues.
II. Aims and Objectives of the Women Cell:
1. Gender Equality and Empowerment: The Women Cell strives to create an inclusive environment that promotes gender equality, empowering women to actively participate in all aspects of academic and institutional life.
2. Prevention and Redressal of Harassment: The Women Cell is committed to creating a safe and harassment-free environment for women within the institution. It works towards preventing any form of gender-based harassment and providing a mechanism for the timely redressal of complaints.
3. Awareness and Sensitization: The Women Cell conducts various awareness campaigns, workshops, and training sessions to sensitize students, faculty, and staff about gender-related issues, women's rights, and the importance of creating a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
