Mr. Aboothahir, former inmate and student of WMO, young emerging poet and the now teacher of English in WOUPS Muttil was the chief guest for this programme. He delivered a talk on “Writing Poetry in the Time of National Turbulence’. This was the second of the department’s programs of its ‘Honour the Region’ series. The poet awoke in students the insight of being a real citizen of a nation. Beginning from Pablo Neruda, his words created throbbing in students’ minds and activated them to pursue revolt for justice. He concluded his words reciting Faiz Ahmad Faiz’s ‘ Hum Dekhenge’ which has raised a thunder against CAA and NRC in Indian campuses.
